Burke County Genealogical Web - Burke County, NC page of US GenWeb. The US GenWeb Project
provides Internet websites for genealogical research in every county and every state of the US.

Census Online - Contains links to census records that have been transcribed. Not much here yet, but
growing.

Geographic Names Information System - US Geological Service online database. it will find townships,
etc. and then link to the Tiger Map Server to display the location.

North Carolina Genealogy Society - Gives information on membership publications, annual meetings, &
workshops available from the society, as well as contact information for local societies.

NC Division of Archives & History - Gives info on the mission statement, calendar of events, contact
information, maps to the archives. Also provides information on its divisions, such as State Capitol
Visitor Services, State historic Preservation Office, & state historic sites.

North Carolina Gen Connect - Contains queries, obituaries, and biographies concerning residents of
NC. From here, you can access all the NC counties that use this system, as well as link to other states.
You can do searches on all surnames in the GenWeb Query System.

The Records Vault - Where the Court Records Are! (Catawba, Cleveland, Lincoln, Orange, Person, &
Rutherford counties).

Cyndi's List of Genealogy Sites on the Internet - Many pages of genealogical links. Provides links to
libraries, archives, museums, newspapers, maps, gazetteers, county web pages, and records for doing
NC genealogy.

Jeff Weaver's Page - Collection of primary documents about Northwestern North Carolina (Ashe,
Alleghany, Watagua & Wilkes County) and Grayson Co., Virginia. Warning: Some of the files on this
site are very large.
